Mechanical Design Engineer

Overview

Mechanical Design Engineer for the Transformers business unit, supporting an international design and engineering team in Vadodara, India.

What you'll do

• Generate active part and winding, tank, and external designs meeting factory limitations and IEEE/IEC/IS standards.
• Prepare customer documents, manufacturing drawings, and bill of materials for submission by project schedule.
• Support transformer mechanical design across thermal, dielectrics, short circuit, sound performance, and mechanical aspects.
• Coordinate mechanical design activities with a worldwide factories network.
• Participate in internal design concept reviews.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

What you'll need

• Have a B.E / B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Have 2 to 8 years of mechanical design experience in distribution oil-filled transformer manufacturing industry.
• Use CAD software and a 3D modelling software (any 3D modelling tool).
• Understand transformer design, mechanical calculations, dielectrics, clearance/creepage, and basic layout and cleats lead arrangement.
• Know IS/IEC/IEEE standards and Canadian standards.
• Speak and write English proficiently and work with technical teams in different parts of the world.
