Lead Engineer - Mechanical Component

Overview

Lead Mechanical Engineer for heat exchanger projects in the Heat Exchanger engineering department. You will lead mechanical design, calculations, drawings review, and design optimization while coordinating with global teams.

What you'll do

• Perform mechanical design of heat exchangers according to applicable rules and standards.
• Ensure manufacturing drawing quality based on calculations and engineering practice.
• Execute analytical mechanical calculations for product sizing during the tender phase.
• Lead mechanical sizing of products based on client specifications, internal guidelines, and input data.
• Review documentation and notes sent to clients and check manufacturing drawings.
• Support internal and client design review activities and respond to customer issues.
• Coordinate with thermal engineering and manufacturing quality teams and challenge FEA boundary conditions and results.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of experience in engineering activities in an industrial environment.
• Experience in power plant engineering and technical know-how.
• Strong knowledge of pressure vessel codes and heat exchanger standards (ASME, EN13445, CODAP, AD2000 mandatory; others helpful).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering physics.
• Knowledge of FEA principles; ANSYS helpful but not mandatory; ability to challenge FEA model boundary conditions and calculation results.
• High skills in at least one pressure vessel calculation software (AutoPipe Vessel, Compress, PVElite).
• High competence in technical drawings and familiarity with CAD tools (CATIA, Autodesk products or equivalent).
