Microsoft Fabric Platform Engineer

Overview

Operate, govern and improve an enterprise Microsoft Fabric and Power BI environment, including platform administration, capacity and gateway management, automation, incident response and governed AI analytics enablement.

What you'll do

• Administer Fabric and Power BI tenant settings, capacities, domains, workspaces and access controls.
• Enforce governance across security, data protection, workspace lifecycle, deployment and compliance.
• Monitor capacity health, utilization and throttling, and optimize performance.
• Manage on-premises and virtual network data gateways, including connectivity, upgrades and troubleshooting.
• Automate operations, monitoring, governance reporting and deployments with PowerShell, Python, REST APIs and CI/CD.
• Lead incident triage, root-cause analysis, service restoration and stakeholder communication.
• Support governed Fabric AI capabilities, including AI Agents, Data Agents, ontologies and semantic models.

What you'll need

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in data, analytics, BI or cloud platform engineering.
• Hands-on experience administering Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
• Experience with capacity administration, monitoring, performance analysis and optimization.
• Experience with gateway architecture, configuration, high availability, upgrades and issue resolution.
• Skills in Python, SQL, DAX, Fabric Notebooks, semantic models and Semantic Link Labs.
• Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (DP-600).
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

Nice to have

• PL-300, DP-203, AI-102 or AZ-104 certifications.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale Fabric or Power BI environments.
• Experience with Microsoft Purview, data lineage, DLP, RBAC, Lakehouse, Direct Lake and deployment pipelines.
