MTS-1 Machine Learning Engineer

Overview

Build and operate machine learning platforms, services, APIs, data pipelines, and MLOps capabilities for eBay Ads. Develop scalable, low-latency systems supporting sponsored search, recommendations, ranking, retrieval, personalization, and Generative AI.

What you'll do

• Design and operate scalable backend and ML systems.
• Develop MLOps pipelines for CI/CD, training, validation, and monitoring.
• Engineer data pipelines for model training and feature engineering.
• Implement and optimize traditional ML and Generative AI models.
• Translate research prototypes into production-ready code.
• Monitor performance and resolve production issues.
• Mentor team members through technical guidance and code reviews.

What you'll need

• MS in Computer Science or a related area with 5+ years of relevant experience, or BS/BA with 6+ years.
• Experience in machine learning, artificial intelligence, or data engineering.
• Expertise in an object-oriented language such as Scala, Java, or Python.
• Experience with distributed processing frameworks such as Hadoop, Spark, or Flink.
• Production experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Ability to design scalable distributed systems and RESTful or gRPC APIs.

Nice to have

• Experience with TensorFlow Serving, TorchServe, or NVIDIA Triton.
• Experience with LangChain or Hugging Face Transformers.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
