Primary Design Engineer - GIS

Overview

Primary Design Engineer - GIS for High Voltage GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) substations, driving primary engineering activities from technical handover through project completion.

What you'll do

• Lead and execute primary engineering activities for GIS projects end to end.
• Interpret customer specifications, compliance requirements, and technical standards to produce engineering deliverables.
• Create electrical and gas single line diagrams, layout plans, sectional drawings, 3D GIS models, and design documentation.
• Ensure timely delivery of milestones including base design, BOM preparation, detailed design, and as-built documentation.
• Generate and release BOMs in SAP and support procurement-related documentation.
• Participate in customer meetings, technical clarifications, and design reviews to achieve design freeze.
• Support troubleshooting, perform root cause analysis, and implement CAPA for factory and site issues.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 4-8 years of experience in primary engineering and substation design.
• Hands-on experience with 3D engineering tools including Creo/Pro-E and AutoCAD 3D.
• Strong knowledge of High Voltage GIS products and substation engineering practices.
• Familiarity with international standards including IEC, EN, and ANSI.
• Proficiency in SAP and engineering/project tools including PDB, MDB, Manage, ProTrack, and Adonis.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint.
