Principal Engineer - Primary Substation

Overview

Principal Engineer for primary substation design within the Transmission & Distribution team in India.

What you'll do

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of primary engineers and technical specialists.
• Prepare primary electrical system designs and deliverables for transmission and distribution projects.
• Perform primary engineering for AIS/GIS substations, including general arrangement drawings and SLDs.
• Conduct short-circuit fault analysis and related electrical protection and stability design.
• Design substation earthing systems, including grounding layouts and lightning protection.
• Develop transformer layouts and electrical interconnection documentation for installation and operation.

What you'll need

• 12–15 years of work experience is preferred.
• Master of Engineering degree (or equivalent) in an appropriate engineering discipline.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Professional Engineer (PE) license (or equivalent).
• HV Plant Design for EHV Grid Substations experience is mandatory.
• Experience in FEED or detailed design of high voltage installations (132kV to 400kV).
• Exposure to international standards such as IEC, IEEE, and others is preferred.

Details

• Location: Gurugram, HARYANA, India.
• Hybrid role: hybrid employees work from an AECOM office at least three days per week.
• In-person Day 1 onboarding is required at an AECOM office location.
