Principal Software Engineer

Overview

Principal Software Engineer in the Group Security (GS) team, responsible for designing secure, scalable platform and API solutions aligned to the Group Security Architecture.

What you'll do

• Lead design and architecture of secure, scalable, supportable API and platform solutions.
• Drive technical strategy, engineering standards, cloud-native adoption, DevSecOps practices, and continuous improvement across security platforms.
• Collaborate with engineering, architecture, product, and security stakeholders to deliver end-to-end solutions with technical leadership and mentoring.
• Perform design analysis and estimation from business case through ideation, discovery, and inception phases.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and run Proof of Concepts (PoCs), including AI/LLM capabilities where relevant.

What you'll need

• 14+ years of software engineering experience, including enterprise-scale REST APIs and microservices.
• Deep enterprise backend engineering expertise in Java/Spring Boot or .NET Core/C#.
• Python is required.
• Strong knowledge of security architecture and API security (OAuth2, OIDC, JWT) plus secure coding practices.
• Experience building and operating cloud-native services with infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation templates).
• Hands-on AWS experience including API Gateway, Lambda, EKS/ECS, IAM, VPC, Security Groups, Load Balancers, and CloudWatch.
• Experience implementing DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, security automation, observability, and troubleshooting.

Nice to have

• Experience in security, risk, compliance, fraud, identity, or other enterprise platform domains.
• Exposure to AI/LLM-enabled engineering solutions and security automation.
• AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Developer) and security-related certifications.
