Principal Software Engineer - Java

Overview

Principal Software Engineer - Java to provide technical leadership and act as a subject matter expert for complex back-end Java development and product/platform delivery for Zephyr Test Management.

What you'll do

• Serve as the primary subject matter expert and technical liaison for the team’s product development.
• Lead and implement complex change, especially across software platforms and customer solutions.
• Drive strategic direction by identifying technology and process changes with long-term benefits.
• Customize, enhance, troubleshoot, and document components per requirements and design.
• Conduct assessments and provide work effort estimations to senior leadership.
• Lead high-quality code reviews and maintain highly performant, testable code using strong design patterns.
• Partner with Solution Architects and the Engineering Manager to optimize, update, and maintain the current code base.

What you'll need

• 12+ years of experience as an individual contributor.
• Experience with unit and integration testing and encouraging extensive test coverage.
• In-depth knowledge of Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Data, and Hibernate.
• Knowledge of Java Reflection, IoC, AOP, and OOP/OOD.
• Strong experience with AWS technologies including Lambda, SQS, SNS, RDS, and DynamoDB.
• Experience with RDBMS (MSSQL, MySQL, or PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases.
• Expertise in application security covering authentication, authorization, encryption, and security testing.
