Process / Industrial Engineer

Overview

You will optimize ABB’s production assembly methods, processes, and equipment to improve quality, efficiency, cost, and safety for the Electrification Smart Power business.

What you'll do

• Optimize assembly methods, processes, and equipment to minimize labor hours.
• Conduct manufacturing feasibility studies for new products using DFA methodology.
• Coordinate industrial performance initiatives via digitalization, standardization, energy-efficient approaches, and innovative technologies.
• Lead end-to-end equipment and assembly line development from RFQs through commissioning, ROI analysis, and capacity simulation.
• Provide industrialisation support by resolving critical production issues and monitoring equipment performance.
• Ensure robust, efficient, and safe manufacturing processes.

What you'll need

• B.E/B. Tech in Mechanical, Industrial, or Production Engineering.
• 10–15 years of relevant experience in manufacturing and assembly process engineering.
• Knowledge of assembly process design, SPM, fully automatic machine development, lean manufacturing, MTM, and VSM.
• Experience with assembly technologies including laser marking, riveting, soldering, ultrasonic welding, robotics, packaging, vision systems, and pneumatic/electro-mechanical systems.
• Experience in end-to-end assembly line development including DFA, PFMEA, LADM documentation, process flow simulation, and capacity/takt time analysis.
• Skills in jigs and fixture design, GD&T, Cp/Cpk, Six Sigma, Poka-Yoke, Jidoka, and mechanical/electrical/thermal testing.
