Product Developer – Polymer & Electrical Materials | Pune - Ranjangaon

Overview

Product Developer for polymer & electrical materials, responsible for developing, optimizing, industrializing, and managing the lifecycle of polymer-based products for medium voltage (MV) cable accessories and electrical applications.

What you'll do

• Translate customer and application requirements into polymer material and product solutions for MV electrical applications.
• Develop and optimize polymer and elastomeric formulations and blends for required electrical, mechanical, thermal, and environmental performance.
• Design and develop MV cable accessory components such as heat-shrinkable insulation tubes and stress-control-related products.
• Develop, validate, and scale up manufacturing processes from lab/pilot through commercial production, including establishing process windows.
• Apply materials expertise to electrical insulation performance requirements including dielectric strength and tracking/erosion resistance.
• Lead product industrialization and lifecycle activities, including tech transfer, technical investigations, and continuous improvement.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of relevant industrial experience in product development, polymer formulation, materials development, or process development.
• Master’s degree in Polymer Engineering/Polymer Science, Plastics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science/Materials Engineering, Rubber Technology, or Electrical Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience in polymer formulation, processing, product development, and manufacturing scale-up.
• Experience in polymer compounding, extrusion technologies, and manufacturing scale-up/industrialization.
• Ability in root-cause analysis and technical problem solving.
• Strong cross-functional project management experience.
