Production Support Engineer

Overview

Production Support Engineer for production services, handling workload management and incident/problem management for mainframe and cross-platform scheduling tools.

What you'll do

• Manage production workload using mainframe and cross-platform scheduling and performance management tools.
• Meet daily and end-of-month client service delivery goals for product uptimes, transmission deadlines, and statement deadlines.
• Respond to automated event problem tickets and alert messages about deadlines and exceptions.
• Monitor scheduling system and production automation exception events and follow up, including email notifications.
• Diagnose and prioritize incidents (e.g., abends and Connect:Direct node/process failures) and perform impact assessment.
• Generate and distribute summary reports and interpret and communicate negative trends.

What you'll need

• BA/BS degree in a related field, or the equivalent in education and work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field.
• Proficiency with JCL, ISPF, IBM utilities, VSAM, File-Aid, and Connect:Direct.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow.
• PC literacy in Microsoft Office product suite.
• Understanding of ITIL best practices.
