Program Research Analyst - IRP

Overview

Program Research Analyst - IRP role supporting Integrated Resource Planning (IRP) work for state energy-transition priorities.

What you'll do

• Conduct background research and literature reviews on generation and transmission resource adequacy policies and plans.
• Collect, interpret, and analyze regulatory/electricity data from sources such as policies, rules, regulations, and tariff petitions.
• Review judgments, regulations, policies, and related documentation.
• Support techno-economic, regulatory, legal, and policy analysis.
• Summarise findings into notes and analytical summaries.
• Contribute to ongoing research tasks and participate in team meetings and presentations.

What you'll need

• Master’s degree in electrical/power systems engineering, public policy, economics, law, or related disciplines.
• At least two years of work experience.
• Exposure to energy policy or regulatory analysis and data interpretation (desirable).
• Excellent analytical and writing skills.
• Ability to track, analyze, summarise, and record important data from policy and legal sources.
• Comfort with quantitative analysis using Microsoft Excel and presenting findings using PowerPoint and tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
• Demonstrated interest in the energy sector, public policy, and climate resilience.
