Provisioning Engineer

Overview

Provisioning Engineer responsible for high-volume server activation and supporting Vultr’s global cloud infrastructure expansion.

What you'll do

• Execute end-to-end server onboarding, including initial imaging and bundled firmware updates.
• Respond to capacity management requests to provision new servers efficiently.
• Perform post-onboard validation and support handoff to the Platform team.
• Build and improve automation scripts and provisioning pipelines.
• Track and report onboarding metrics to identify bottlenecks and drive improvements.
• Maintain detailed documentation and runbooks for provisioning workflows.

What you'll need

• 4+ years of experience in Linux systems administration, deployment automation, or infrastructure operations.
• Strong Bash scripting skills for building and maintaining automation scripts.
• Hands-on experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible or Puppet.
• Solid understanding of Linux fundamentals including networking, storage, boot processes, and command-line tooling.
• Comfortable working in high-volume deployment environments with remote hands support.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
