Purchase Engineer

Overview

Purchase Engineer to manage sourcing and procurement for mechanical and HVAC engineering commodities, including supplier qualification, cost analysis, and commercial negotiations.

What you'll do

• Manage sourcing and procurement of mechanical, fabricated, and specialized engineering commodities.
• Lead procurement for HVAC equipment such as ATU, HE, fans, SWC, filtration systems, pumps, valves, and compressors.
• Onboard, evaluate, qualify, and manage supplier performance.
• Conduct cost analysis, value engineering, and commercial negotiations.
• Work with stakeholders and a Procurement Manager to understand spend requirements and deliver cost savings.
• Manage vendor registration, total cost analysis, and prepare procurement reports.
• Maintain procurement records and audit documentation, including using ERP reports.

What you'll need

• 1–3 years of relevant experience in engineering/estimation.
• BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Knowledge of ERP systems and MS Office.
• AutoCAD drawing interpretation and BOM understanding.
• Hands-on experience with engineering drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials.
• Ability to review technical specifications, P&IDs, GA drawings, and BOMs.

Nice to have

• Experience with Mechanical, Fabrication, Marine, and Navy commodities.
