Research Analyst - Oil & Chemicals

Overview

Research Analyst on the Refined Products and Transport Fuels team, analysing long-term and short-term trends in oil product demand as part of a global Oils and Chemicals team.

What you'll do

• Analyse long-term and short-term trends in oil product demand.
• Conduct fundamental research and modelling across the oil products value chain.
• Collaborate with cross-functional research teams to build an integrated view of how oil product and fuels demand is evolving through the energy transition.
• Analyse the key economic, policy, transport and market drivers shaping demand.
• Provide analysis to clients through research, presentations, webinars and emails in a timely and professional manner.
• Contribute to short- and long-term demand forecasts by monitoring market developments and maintaining datasets and analytical models.
• Maintain and develop data models, methodology and other intellectual property related to the industry.
• Support client enquiries and ad hoc requests.

What you'll need

• Demonstrable interest and relevant experience in commodity market dynamics.
• Relevant experience as an economist or analyst.
• High numeracy, with high attention to detail and proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong command of written and spoken English.
• Ability to articulate clear, insightful analysis both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently, with excellent interpersonal skills.

Nice to have

• Specific experience in the oil or transport sectors.

Details

• Location: Gurugram, India.
• Hybrid working: physically present in the office at least 2 days per week, subject to change per company policy.
• Full-time role.
