Research Engineer

Overview

Research-first “Research Engineer” role focused on exploratory projects at the intersection of AI and vision technology.

What you'll do

• Research, prototype, and evaluate approaches to challenging problems in AI and vision technology.
• Translate research ideas into working proofs-of-concept and experiments.
• Use modern AI tools and frameworks to accelerate research and prototyping.
• Stay current with developments in AI, computer vision, and machine learning and share relevant ideas.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to connect research to product and customer needs.
• Document findings and contribute to the team’s research direction.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field from a top-tier engineering institute.
• 0–3 years of experience (fresh graduates with strong research aptitude encouraged).
• Demonstrated ability to solve unsolved problems and research/experiment using first principles.
• Comfort with ambiguity and self-driven motivation for hard, open-ended problems.
• Active badge holder on Salesforce Trailhead.
• Comfort using AI-first tools to learn faster and prototype quicker.

Nice to have

• Exposure to computer vision (image processing, object/pattern recognition, OCR, or related areas).
• Hands-on experience with modern AI tools, LLMs, or AI-assisted development workflows.
• Research experience via publications, thesis work, competitions (e.g., Kaggle), or notable projects.
• Experience building prototypes or experimental systems end to end.
• Strong programming fundamentals (Python preferred) and grounding in data structures, algorithms, and math.
• Familiarity with machine learning concepts/frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
