Overview

Senior AI-Native Product Engineer (Full Stack) on Zillow’s Metro team, building systems behind how customers find help, schedule tours, and connect with agents.

What you'll do

• Turn loosely defined ideas into clear plans with tradeoffs, edge cases, success metrics, and a path to production.
• Work with product managers, designers, data partners, and engineers to shape solutions and challenge assumptions.
• Build systems used by real estate professionals and internal product teams to manage experiences, test ideas, and support customers.
• Work across the stack including user experience, services, APIs, data models, instrumentation, and operational workflows.
• Ship with testing strategy, rollout plan, monitoring, and safeguards for the level of risk.
• Support production by learning from customer behavior and metrics and improving over time.
• Raise the bar through code reviews, technical discussions, mentoring, and day-to-day standards.

What you'll need

• Significant experience building and shipping software in product environments where engineers own work beyond implementation.
• Track record of owning features or product areas from concept through launch and post-launch iteration.
• Strong engineering fundamentals including system design, testing strategy, debugging, maintainability, and operational readiness.
• Strong product and business judgment connecting technical decisions to customer impact and company goals.
• Full-stack range across user experience, services, APIs, and data concerns when required.
• Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools or automation as part of day-to-day engineering work.
• Clear written/verbal English communication to write specs, explain tradeoffs, and drive decisions asynchronously.

• Remote position for U.S. employees; no permanent corporate office workplace.
• Base pay range is location-dependent within the U.S., with different ranges listed by state.
