Senior Engineer

Overview

Senior Engineer role supporting customers as the subject matter expert for HPE data center networking products, covering design, troubleshooting, testing, documentation and automation.

What you'll do

• Serve as the subject matter expert for HPE products in data center networking technologies, supporting customers with network design, troubleshooting, hardware and software testing, documentation, best practices, and automation.
• Work with the customer on service provider and data center architecture, design, deployment, and troubleshooting.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues across QFX, EVPN-VXLAN, BGP, MPLS, SRv6, routing, switching, and data center fabrics.
• Analyze configurations, logs, traffic flows, and network behavior to identify root cause and provide corrective actions.
• Provide technical guidance on Segment Routing, MPLS, spine-leaf architectures, EVPN-VXLAN, underlay/overlay networks, DCI, and network resiliency.
• Work with Juniper SE, Engineering, Product Management, and JTAC to resolve complex technical issues and drive customer requirements.
• Validate designs, MOPs, software releases, and new features in lab environments before production deployment.
• Support data center migrations, upgrades, fabric expansion, and implementation activities.
• Conduct technical workshops and provide best-practice recommendations for network optimization and operational improvements.
• Maintain network design and operational documentation and provide proactive guidance on software, security, and lifecycle considerations.
• Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and improved network performance and reliability.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 14+ years of relevant network experience, including service provider and large-scale data center environments.
• Typically 14-16 years of experience.
• Strong knowledge of MPLS and Segment Routing.
• Strong knowledge of EVPN-VXLAN and data center spine-leaf architectures, including BGP EVPN and VXLAN, L2/L3 VNI and IRB anycast gateway, ESI multihoming / MC-LAG, and underlay/overlay networking.
• Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF/IS-IS, VLAN, LACP, Ethernet, IPv4/IPv6, and routing policies.
• Experience troubleshooting complex data center production networks and performing RCA.
• Experience with data center migration, upgrades, and fabric deployments.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Data Center Interconnect (DCI).
