Senior Engineering Manager

Overview

Senior Engineering Manager for HubSpot’s Threat Operations team, leading a security-focused engineering organization across threat intelligence, vulnerability work, and incident detection/response.

What you'll do

• Lead and grow a team of ~25 engineers across threat intelligence, incident response, and detection engineering.
• Set technical and strategic direction for how HubSpot detects, responds to, and learns from security threats.
• Own incident response end-to-end from detection through resolution and post-incident review.
• Drive development of threat intelligence capabilities that inform and sharpen HubSpot’s defensive posture.
• Ensure compliance with security specifications and partner with legal/compliance stakeholders.
• Build relationships with InfraSec leadership and the CISO’s office as a trusted security partner.
• Contribute to cross-functional hiring, planning, and investment decisions within the broader security organization.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of experience in security, including engineering management experience for 15+ people.
• Security professional first experience (threat intelligence, incident response, detection, SOC).
• Experience managing managers or Tech Leads and growing senior technical talent.
• Deep familiarity with incident response and threat detection at scale.
• Cross-functional presence with legal, compliance, and executive stakeholders including a CISO.
• Resilience and adaptability for a high-pressure function with changing priorities.

• Location preference: North America-based; East or West Coast preferred.
• Onboarding: Regional HubSpot office in-person onboarding is required for Engineering team joiners.
