Senior enterprise technology engineer

Overview

Lead retail payments operations across in-store and digital channels, owning system stability, settlement accuracy, fraud operations, vendor performance, and a team of Payments Administrators.

What you'll do

• Oversee card authorization, processing, POS, and gateway operations.
• Manage high-severity payment incidents and lead post-incident reviews.
• Coach and develop Payments Administrators and set performance benchmarks.
• Own settlement, funding validation, reconciliation, and discrepancy resolution.
• Manage fraud monitoring, chargebacks, processor coordination, and risk responses.
• Own operational relationships with processors, acquirers, gateways, and fraud vendors.
• Track operational metrics and deliver executive-level reporting.

What you'll need

• 7+ years of experience in payments operations, retail technology, finance operations, or related fields.
• 3+ years of experience leading or managing teams.
• Strong understanding of the card payment lifecycle and retail POS environments.
• Experience managing high-impact payment incidents in a retail environment.
• Ability to analyze settlement files, processor reports, and transaction data.
• Understanding of PCI DSS, chargebacks, fraud mitigation, SOX, and payment audit controls.
• Strong people leadership, coaching, and executive communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in multi-store, high-transaction-volume retail.
• Omnichannel payments experience.
• Experience leading processor migrations or new tender launches.
• Familiarity with major payment processors.
