Overview
The Senior Integration Engineer develops and maintains integration and automation solutions for Legion WFM customers, providing leadership across analysis, design, and enterprise solution architecture. This opportunity is an overnight-shift role with on-call rotation.
What you'll do
- Design and implement scalable integration architectures connecting Legion with HR, POS, Payroll, and other enterprise systems.
- Design, build, and test integrations using Workato.
- Develop secure and efficient REST APIs within Legion's API-driven ecosystem.
- Ensure high-performance, reliable integrations using modern cloud platforms.
- Engage with architects and engineers for design collaboration and code reviews.
- Improve development practices and stay ahead of agile software engineering trends.
- Gain and maintain deep knowledge of Legion's product and integration ecosystem.
- Identify, report, and prioritize product bugs and enhancements.
- Work with core engineering and production engineering teams to improve backend reliability and troubleshoot production issues.
- Stay updated on new releases and enhancements to drive product adoption.
- Write secure, enterprise-grade integration code using leading platforms and technologies.
- Write well-designed, testable, efficient code.
- Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle.
- Conduct peer code reviews to ensure code quality and maintainability.
- Share expertise and mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing.
- Contribute to best practices for integration and internal technical documentation.
- Support process improvements and advocate for scalable, sustainable integrations.
- Commit to high-quality work, setting personal and team objectives aligned with organizational goals.
What you'll need
- 7+ years of business, information, solution, or technical architecture experience.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant STEM field, including Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or another relevant degree.
- Ability to work as a team player and independently.
- An analytical, results-driven, and solution-oriented approach.
- Exceptional interpersonal and English communication skills, including verbal, written, presentation, and listening skills.
- 3+ years of experience with event-driven Architecture and Microservices.
- Deep technical expertise in integration technologies and protocols such as HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SFTP, SOAP, REST, JMS, and JDBC.
- Experience using Linux/Unix environments.
- Proficiency with Core Java.
- Experience with relational databases, SQL, and JDBC, including one of Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, etc.
- 2+ years of experience using AWS technologies such as AWS CDK, CloudFormation, S3, ECS, EKS, and EC2.
- Experience with test-driven development.
- Strong experience with Java/RESTful web services.
- Exposure to agile software development leveraging toolsets such as Jira, GitHub, and Jenkins.
- Knowledge and experience with CI/CD processes and tools.
- A proven track record of using problem-solving and root-cause analysis.
Nice to have
- Workforce management integration experience.
- Experience designing and implementing scalable integration solutions with integration platforms such as Workato, SAP BTP Integration Suite, Dell Boomi, Jitterbit, and SnapLogic.
- Proactive ability to command respect through intelligence, hard work, and persistence.
- Technical consulting experience.
- Experience working with Docker and other isolation technologies.
- Experience working with external application integrations end-to-end such as Workday and SAP.

- Location: Bangalore or Pune, India.
- Hybrid role.
- Overnight shift.
- Expected hours: 2230 - 0730.
- Participation in an on-call rotation is required.
- May require work outside of normal business hours.
