Senior Principal Engineer – Wireless AP Software Development

Overview

Senior Principal Engineer to lead architecture, design, and development of enterprise wireless access point (AP) software for Wi‑Fi 6/6E/7. Own end-to-end software architecture from silicon SDK integration through cloud-managed provisioning and monitoring.

What you'll do

• Lead end-to-end architecture for advanced Wi‑Fi features from silicon SDK integration to cloud-managed provisioning.
• Design and develop enterprise Wi‑Fi features for Wi‑Fi 6, 6E, and 7 performance and capabilities.
• Architect and implement wireless application features including Wi‑Fi Mesh, NAN, and IEEE 802.11mc/802.11az locationing.
• Implement advanced enterprise roaming using 802.11k/v/r.
• Collaborate with Wi‑Fi chipset vendors on SDK integration, firmware customization, and performance tuning.
• Design cloud-managed and firewall-managed capabilities such as Zero-Touch Provisioning (ZTP), remote configuration, real-time monitoring, and centralized control.
• Ensure data-path orchestration between AP firmware, local security firewalls, and cloud management dashboards.

What you'll need

• Strong product development experience for Wi‑Fi access points with deep IEEE 802.11 standards knowledge.
• Hands-on firmware/wireless application development experience for Wi‑Fi Mesh, NAN, 802.11mc, 802.11az, and seamless roaming (802.11k/11v/11r).
• Expert knowledge of Embedded Linux, Linux kernel internals, device drivers, hostapd, wpa_supplicant, and system-level debugging.
• Strong C/C++ development proficiency for resource-constrained embedded networking platforms.
• Strong networking background including TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, QoS, and enterprise network protocols.
• Practical knowledge of network security integrations such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, threat detection, and policy enforcement at the AP level.
