Overview
Owns the strategy, design, and delivery of products within the Private Funds domain of the Clearwater system, covering the full product lifecycle from definition and development through production and go-to-market. This is a technical product role working with engineering on data models, integrations, and AI-enabled workflows.
What you'll do
- Lead and guide a team of 8-15 developers, supporting knowledge-sharing and training to build team effectiveness.
- Own the Private Funds product(s) end to end, from ideation through market launch and ongoing evolution.
- Prioritize and manage the backlog, balancing client-facing features, data quality, and platform investments in line with business goals.
- Write clear, detailed requirements and acceptance criteria, including data model changes, schema definitions, API contracts, validation rules, and data lineage expectations.
- Define and evolve the domain data model, including GP/LP structures, master/feeder relationships, fund and asset taxonomies and sub-types, and the treatment of capital account and PCAP statements, capital call and distribution notices, and NAV and performance data.
- Specify how data is versioned, corrected, and restated (e.g., immutable, transaction-based designs), and define approaches to entity matching, alias/deduplication, and reconciliation across sources.
- Shape and prioritize agentic and Generative AI capabilities, such as automated document procurement, extraction, classification, and validation, defining accuracy targets, human-in-the-loop review workflows, and evaluation methods.
- Work daily with engineering on architecture trade-offs, feature design, and delivery, ensuring solutions meet client needs and scale with data volume and complexity.
- Develop and communicate the product roadmap, setting strategic direction for analytics, research and deal management, managed data services, and accounting capabilities.
- Keep stakeholders informed on product updates, roadmap progress, and releases.
- Engage with Clients of Clearwater, who may be GPs or LPs, to understand their workflows and data needs and translate them into actionable enhancements.
- Work with data operations and service teams to measure and reduce manual intervention, turning root causes into product and automation improvements.
- Define KPIs (e.g., data accuracy, coverage, timeliness, straight-through processing rates, adoption, NPS) and use data-driven insights to guide future decisions.
- Act as the go-to expert on private funds and alternative investments, supporting sales, client conversations, and product strategy.
- Participate in large-scale initiatives that promote employee retention and engagement.
- Teach and guide other teams toward effective processes and best practices.
