Overview
Senior Project Engineer (SIS) serving as a design authority for an engineering discipline within ABB’s Process Automation business in Energy Industries.
What you'll do
- Complete design authority assignments across multiple moderate-size projects.
- Ensure work is completed per contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies.
- Collaborate on project installation, commissioning, and site activities to address engineering errors.
- Coach project engineers and designers on translating conceptual designs into engineering documentation.
- Lead and coordinate engineering teams (fewer than 10 members) across in-house and outsourced disciplines.
- Provide technical support for commissioning and start-up activities.
- Prepare proposals, support contract claims, and create work plans and cost estimates.
What you'll need
- At least 10 years of experience in design, engineering, testing, commissioning, and consulting for Control and Safety Systems in specified industries.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams.
- TUV Functional Safety Engineer Certification (or equivalent).
- Working knowledge of the Safety Lifecycle and participation in functional safety assessments.
- Working knowledge of IEC61508 and IEC61511.
- Proficiency in safety system design, application programming, hardware design, and HMI graphics development.
- Experience with safety system hardware inspection, FAT, SAT, loop checks, start-up, and commissioning.
