Senior Software Engineer - AI Safety Detection Precision

Overview

Senior Software Engineer on the Safety Detection Precision team, building core systems that review safety detections, identify ambiguous cases, and automate triage to improve real-world risk reduction.

What you'll do

• Build and evolve core systems that review safety detections and decide which events are surfaced to customers.
• Improve detection precision by developing approaches to identify ambiguous cases, deflect low-value reviews, and automate triage.
• Work at the intersection of backend systems, data, and AI-driven decisioning to improve product quality and internal review efficiency.
• Partner with product, design, AI, and ML infra to turn review outcomes into better model feedback loops.
• Own complex projects end-to-end, including design, rollout, measurement, and iteration in production.
• Use modern AI-assisted engineering workflows to accelerate prototyping, implementation, debugging, and iteration.

What you'll need

• 4+ years of software development experience, primarily in backend or distributed systems.
• Experience on a product engineering team shipping systems that solve real customer problems.
• Demonstrable focus on customer experience and connecting technical decisions to customer value.
• AI-first engineer who uses modern AI coding/reasoning tools while validating outputs for correctness, maintainability, and reliability.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals with experience building production systems in at least one modern programming language.
• Experience designing and building large-scale, high-throughput systems.
