Senior Software Engineer - Blockchain Network

Overview

Senior Software Engineer on Coinbase’s Blockchain Networks team (Platform group), building blockchain network infrastructure and integrating blockchain protocols with Coinbase internal services for new assets, stablecoins, and staking.

What you'll do

• Design and deliver blockchain network infrastructure with reliable platform APIs.
• Lead multi-quarter initiatives for chain integrations, re-architecture, and data migrations.
• Define and maintain APIs, SLOs, and observability for owned systems.
• Own on-call responsibilities for the systems you build.
• Partner with product and platform teams to establish data contracts and ship SDKs and platform primitives.
• Apply deep knowledge of blockchain protocols to simplify cross-chain operations.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with ownership of production services in service-oriented architecture.
• Proven experience designing, scaling, and maintaining distributed systems for high-throughput, low-latency workloads.
• Hands-on experience with at least two of: Golang, Kafka, Redis, MongoDB, or similar infrastructure technologies.
• Direct experience integrating with blockchain protocols or crypto infrastructure (e.g., Ethereum, Bitcoin, or similar L1/L2 networks).
• Ability to decompose complex systems into microservices with clear API contracts.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to produce business-ready outputs and measurable workflow improvements.
