Senior Technical Specialist

Overview

Senior Technical Specialist (Network Subject Matter Expert) role requiring strong hands-on experience across network technologies, providing technical expertise and thought leadership for complex customer issues and the transition of new business operations and services to Kyndryl.

What you'll do

• Diagnose complex issues across servers, networks, cloud environments and systems to identify root causes
• Recommend solutions that balance technical feasibility, timelines and customer priorities
• Test, refine and automate processes to improve reliability, efficiency and repeatability
• Assess risks proactively and implement strategies to prevent disruptions
• Plan end-to-end infrastructure solutions across platforms and technologies
• Integrate systems in hybrid cloud and on-prem environments to ensure seamless operation
• Automate workflows and processes to streamline delivery and reduce errors
• Document architectures and procedures for hand-offs, knowledge sharing and operational continuity
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including Architects, Project Managers and Technicians
• Drive project delivery from initiation to completion with attention to quality and timelines
• Provide expert-level support for enterprise networking technologies, including routing and switching
• Research, evaluate, design, implement, troubleshoot, and optimize network infrastructure solutions across platforms including Cisco, Arista, wireless technologies, load balancers and firewall appliances
• Administer and support Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol
• Manage IP address allocation, utilization, and lifecycle processes
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical hands-on documentation, operating procedures, and supporting spreadsheets to meet operational and compliance requirements
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and conduct Root Cause Analysis to identify, document, and resolve recurring issues

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
• 5-8 years in Network Routing and Switching IT support
• 2-5 years in Firewall, Load Balancing and Wireless Technologies
• Technical networking and analytical skills in the supported network technologies, with experience on small- to medium-size network infrastructures
• Sound judgment and tact
• Excellent communication (oral, listening and writing), interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills
• Very good teaming, organization and time management skills
• The ability to work effectively in a task-oriented, challenging environment
• The ability to work effectively with peers and all levels of clients

Nice to have

• Progressive record of growth, project, technical and project skills in maintaining and implementing complex network infrastructures
• Familiar with a variety of IT concepts, practices, and procedures
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
• Strong hands-on expertise in enterprise networking technologies
