Shift Engineer

Overview

Manage and maintain electromechanical and utilities services at an on-site Gurugram location with the support of technician and maintenance teams. The role oversees preventive maintenance, safety, vendors, service performance, reporting and building-operations support.

What you'll do

• Manage and maintain electromechanical and utilities services at the site with the help of the technician team.
• Prepare and implement planned preventive maintenance (PPM).
• Conduct regular site inspections to check for risks and defective areas.
• Review subordinate staff work and provide guidance when needed.
• Document, check and follow up on assets under the defect liability period and AMC/CAMC using a tracker.
• Hire, train and develop shift engineers and maintenance staff.
• Formulate budgeting controls and monitor SLAs and KPIs for JLL and outsourced agencies.
• Maintain service level agreements and keep performance indicator scores above excellence.
• Ensure timely agreement renewals, invoice submissions and payment follow-ups.
• Oversee vendor quotations and invoices.
• Ensure proper attendance signoffs and required details for cost-sheet submission.
• Submit client-approved cost sheets to the JLL office on time and follow up on invoices.
• Schedule monthly vendor meetings, discuss daily matters and ensure corrective actions are taken.
• Plan and implement energy conservation measures.
• Prepare monthly readings sheets with occupants and ensure check-sheets and logbooks are completed as scheduled.
• Maintain history cards for all equipment.
• Attend major complaints, escalate to senior staff and coordinate with technical staff when necessary.
• Ensure work permits are in place and safe working practices and procedures are followed.
• Assist the Property Manager, Assistant Property Manager and Technical Manager with building-operations risk assessments and mitigation of identified inherent risks.
• Assist with root cause analysis for system failures and breakdowns.
• Create corrective, preventive and emergency-response action plans.
• Participate in evacuation drills and serve as part of the ERT/QRT team.
• Maintain engineering and other reports, including DMR and MMR.
• Work with regional RO, HO, SME and Training teams to ensure closure of required reports.
• Facilitate services under the slogan “No Safety No Work”.
