Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) - Engineering Productivity

Overview

Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) for Arista Networks’ Engineering Productivity (EngProd) team, focused on building and operating secure, scalable, fault-tolerant infrastructure and tools.

What you'll do

• Build, deploy safely, and operate critical production systems with scalability, reliability, observability, performance, and security.
• Monitor and support services, enhancing developer experience.
• Automate operations to remove toil and improve production system efficiency.
• Proactively monitor, respond to, and enhance alerts, including automated alert handling.
• Create and maintain incident response runbooks and write postmortems to prevent repeats.
• Triage platform and infrastructural issues, help engineers resolve them, and coordinate vendor support.
• Design and implement scalable, reliable, observable systems and plan maintenance windows.

What you'll need

• At least BSc in Computer Science or Engineering plus 5 years’ experience, or MS plus 5 years’ experience, or equivalent work experience.
• Knowledge of one or more: Go, Python, or shell scripting for automation workflows.
• Knowledge of Linux (or UNIX) for administration and debugging.
• Hands-on experience operating software systems at scale.
• Experience with server provisioning (including storage and networking perspective).
• Strong problem-solving and software troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code.
