SOC Design Engineer – RTL/Logic

Overview

Front-end SoC design role in Intel's Devices Development Group, working on Client SOCs: logic design, RTL coding and simulation for SoC blocks and full-chip integration.

What you'll do

• Develop the logic design, Register Transfer Level (RTL) coding, and simulation for an SoC design.
• Integrate logic of IP blocks and subsystems into a full chip SoC or discrete component design.
• Participate in the definition of architecture and microarchitecture features of the block being designed.
• Perform quality checks across logic design aspects, from RTL to timing/power convergence.
• Apply strategies, tools, and methods to write RTL and optimize logic to meet power, performance, area, timing, and design integrity goals for physical implementation.
• Review the verification plan and implementation to ensure design features are verified correctly, and resolve and implement corrective measures for failing RTL tests.
• Work with IP providers to integrate and validate IPs at the SoC level.
• Drive quality assurance compliance for smooth IP-SoC handoff.

What you'll need

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering and 6+ years of experience, or MS degree and 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Relevant experience includes a combination of: silicon design, VLSI design, microarchitecture definition, RTL development, verification, and post-silicon testing.
• Client micro-architecture experience, including power management flows, and memory ordering and coherency.
• Self-motivator with strong problem-solving skills.
• Good leadership capabilities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including written, verbal, and presentation communication.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate in a high-paced atmosphere.

Nice to have

• B.Tech: 7+ years of experience, up to 12 years; M.Tech: 5+ years of experience, up to 10 years, in front-end design and/or integration.
• Experience with Python, Perl, or other scripting languages.
