Software Engineer (Repositories)

Overview

Build and operate backend infrastructure for customer-facing package registries, APIs, and artifact-serving systems. The role focuses on developing Go services, improving production reliability and performance, and supporting a broader repository platform.

What you'll do

• Build and improve registries, APIs, and artifact-serving systems.
• Implement projects from technical design through testing, rollout, monitoring, and iteration.
• Develop and operate backend services in Go.
• Improve scalability, reliability, observability, performance, and load testing.
• Contribute to service, API, data-flow, and operational design decisions.
• Investigate and resolve production issues.
• Collaborate with engineers and product partners across teams.

What you'll need

• At least 2 years of experience building software.
• Backend or infrastructure systems experience.
• Experience with Go or the ability to learn Go quickly.
• Experience taking software projects from implementation through testing and release.
• Familiarity with testing, code review, debugging, and version control.
• Exposure to production service deployment or operations.
• Clear communication and a collaborative approach in a remote environment.

Nice to have

• At least 5 years of experience building and operating production backend or infrastructure systems.
• Experience with customer-facing infrastructure such as package registries, artifact repositories, APIs, or developer platforms.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
• Experience owning backend or infrastructure projects through production operation.
• Strong judgment around reliability, observability, performance, security, and operational tradeoffs.
