Software Technologist - Embedded (Linux Kernel, BSP & Yocto)

Overview

Embedded software developer role in the Hospital Patient Monitoring domain, focused on Linux OSS, BSP, Yocto, and embedded development.

What you'll do

• Analyze and understand software/functional requirements to design and develop software.
• Write efficient, maintainable code and conduct code reviews.
• Develop Bare Metal and/or Linux drivers for embedded devices based on iMX processors.
• Develop or customize board support packages (BSP).
• Create developer-level tests (unit/component) and write component tests using Google Test with Gherkin for BDD.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software issues.

What you'll need

• 5-8 years of relevant developer experience in a Linux development environment.
• At least 3+ years building custom embedded Linux using Yocto, BitBake recipes, and OpenEmbedded.
• Experience with embedded Linux device driver development and board bring-up (programming, debugging, testing).
• Advanced C, C++, shell scripting, and hands-on Python experience.
• Solid understanding of embedded Linux systems, low-level software (drivers, BSP), and open-source/Yocto.
• Good understanding of electronics hardware with schematics and datasheet reading (added advantage).

• Location: Bangalore.
• Work approach: office-based teams require in-person at least 3 days per week; onsite requires full-time presence in company facilities.
