Sr. Observability Engineer II

Overview

Sr. Observability Engineer II serving as a Dynatrace observability subject matter expert to improve proactive monitoring and reduce operational noise.

What you'll do

• Engineer and maintain a Dynatrace multi-tenant environment configuration.
• Own the end-to-end alert lifecycle, including naming, severity mapping, and disposition taxonomies.
• Eliminate alert fatigue using tuning, thresholds, correlation, suppression, and alert retirement.
• Design synthetic monitors and business-centric service-health models for critical client journeys.
• Standardize Dynatrace DQL queries, notebooks, and dashboards for operations and reliability reporting.
• Use configuration-as-code to manage observability configurations with versioning and peer review.
• Integrate alert-to-ticket enrichment with ITSM systems (e.g., Salesforce) to reduce triage time.

What you'll need

• 7+ years of experience in observability/APM/monitoring engineering/SRE or related infrastructure work.
• Hands-on expertise with Dynatrace, including Davis AI, DQL, management zones, alerting profiles, and synthetic monitors.
• Experience designing and tuning enterprise-scale alerting systems to reduce noise while preserving detection.
• Experience integrating monitoring with enterprise ITSM/ticketing systems such as Salesforce.
• Experience in highly regulated hosting environments (e.g., healthcare/HIPAA-HITRUST, SOC 2, ISO 27001).
• Strong working knowledge of AWS, Windows and Linux, and SQL Server database concepts.
• Dynatrace certification (or commitment to obtain within 1 year of hire).
