Overview

Staff Backend Engineer for an AI platform focused on reliable, low-latency, real-time backend services for detecting sensitive data at massive scale.

What you'll do

• Build secure authentication and API services.
• Maintain and evolve mission-critical internal databases and services.
• Architect, optimize, and operate auto-scaling real-time data infrastructure for high volume workloads.
• Optimize AI services to scale models for low-latency real-time inferencing.
• Build observability for insights into customer usage and performance.
• Write and maintain documentation for internal and public services.

What you'll need

• Expertise in one or more systems/high-level languages (e.g., Go, Java, Python, C++).
• Experience running scalable systems (thousands of RPS) with high reliability (three 9’s).
• Experience scaling complex software to substantial data volumes or millions of users with production-quality deployment, monitoring, and reliability.
• Experience with large-scale distributed storage and databases (SQL or NoSQL, e.g., Postgres, Cassandra).
• Ability to decompose complex business problems and lead a team in solving them.
• Experience building and maintaining large-scale/real-time data processing pipelines using tools like Kafka, Flink, Snowflake, or Databricks.
• 8+ years of experience with proven technical leadership in scalable, distributed architectures.
