Staff Data Scientist

Overview

Staff Data Scientist for Dexcom’s product development analytics team, using large-scale data and analytics to improve product performance, reliability, and user experience.

What you'll do

• Identify key drivers of product performance, reliability, and user experience using large-scale bench, clinical, manufacturing, and real-world data.
• Design and build scalable analytical tools, dashboards, and data workflows to visualize and understand product behavior.
• Develop models and machine learning solutions to generate actionable insights for product development and business decisions.
• Lead exploratory initiatives to test hypotheses, find emerging opportunities, and improve existing methodologies.
• Provide technical leadership in data science and analytics, influencing study design, success metrics, and analytical strategy.
• Collaborate closely with product owners, project managers, designers, and other team members.

What you'll need

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and 8-12 years related experience, or a Master’s and 5-7 years, or a PhD and 2-4 years.
• Masters degree or PhD in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Engineering) is listed as a requirement.
• Direct experience deriving insights from health sensing time series data using statistical modeling, machine learning, or other analytical methods.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL and statistical programming languages (Python, R, MATLAB).
• Ability to handle and query datasets and databases of various sizes and degrees of cleanliness.
• Deep understanding of statistical inference, experimental design, predictive modeling, uncertainty quantification, and data visualization.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for varied internal and external stakeholders.
