Overview
Staff Developer Advocate (Leadership) who serves as a technical leader and storyteller for senior technical executive audiences, owning advocacy and content programs end-to-end.
What you'll do
- Serve as the key technical storyteller for senior technical executive audiences.
- Drive and execute first-party technical event content programs such as DASH and Datadog Summits.
- Define and lead executive-level advocacy programs for CTOs, VPs of Engineering, and technical architects.
- Represent Datadog’s point-of-view at events and conferences to technical leaders.
- Partner with and coach internal product and engineering leaders on public communication.
- Create content across one or more mediums (e.g., demos, public speaking, blogging, documentation, webinars, open source, research reports).
- Contribute to product by providing feedback (bug reports or enhancement suggestions).
What you'll need
- Approximately 5+ years of experience as a software developer, SRE, or other practitioner.
- Approximately 8+ years in a senior technical leadership capacity (e.g., Principal Engineer, VP/Director+, Staff Developer Advocate).
- Approximately 3+ years of experience creating compelling storytelling and content (written content, talks, workshops, live streaming or recorded videos, open source, community events).
- Publicly available writing samples, blog posts, demos, or recordings of technical presentations.
- Coaching experience enabling others to speak publicly and deliver talks for technical executive audiences.
- Experience working on technical conferences or events as a collaborator or organizer.

- Experience working with regional teams to localize technical content and stories.
