Staff Engineer, CAD PD/STA

Overview

Staff Engineer responsible for developing, improving, and supporting EDA tools and physical design flows for CMOS integrated circuits, including DRAM designs. The role also leads AI-assisted automation for placement, routing, floorplanning, and optimization.

What you'll do

• Develop place-and-route flows for DRAM designs at advanced process nodes.
• Implement hierarchical, UPF, and process-specific flow methodologies.
• Deploy PnR tools and resolve issues with EDA vendors.
• Customize EDA tools and create in-house flows to improve design efficiency.
• Support global design teams on PnR flows and methodologies.
• Lead AI-assisted and automated workflows for placement, routing, and optimization.
• Develop AI-enabled methods for semi-automated floorplanning and parasitic estimation.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Engineering with 5+ years of experience.
• Alternatively, a master's degree in a relevant engineering field with 4+ years of experience.
• Hands-on experience with ICC2, Innovus, and PrimeTime.
• Knowledge of STA constraints, timing corners, margins, and derates.
• Experience with timing, power-closure, and metal ECOs for SOC signoff.
• Strong UNIX and TCL scripting skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Perl and Python familiarity.
• Tapeout experience at advanced technology nodes.
