Staff Engineer - SSD Hardware Design

Overview

Staff Engineer for SSD hardware design, owning hardware from concept through the product lifecycle and ensuring validation, documentation, and standards compliance.

What you'll do

• Lead the design and development of SSDs for EDSFF (E3.S, E1.L, E3.L) and U.2 form factors.
• Perform worst-case analysis, simulations, and design reviews for SSD hardware.
• Develop and validate designs, including characterization of DC-DC converters, LDOs, and PMIC devices.
• Drive analysis for signal integrity, power integrity, and EMC requirements and maintain related documentation.
• Define PCB back-end process items such as stack-up and via technologies, and set design constraints.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards (IPC) and regulatory requirements (UL, IEC).
• Automate hardware validation tests and support documentation including test reports and FMEA.

What you'll need

• Minimum 10+ years of hardware design, validation, debugging, and root-cause experience.
• In-depth knowledge of PCIe interface Gen5 & Gen6, and PCIe Base and CEM specs.
• Knowledge of LPDDR4/5 and NAND memories, with ONFI interface preferred.
• Strong knowledge of DC-DC converters, Buck/Boost, PMIC, PLP, LDO, and Load Switch devices.
• Experience with measurements using oscilloscopes, power analyzers, logic analyzers, and PCIe analyzers.
• Hardware design experience including capture schematic, de-rating, and ownership through the product lifecycle.
