Staff Software Engineer

Overview

Staff Software Engineer role on OneTrust’s agile Product Engineering team, owning complex features end-to-end and acting as a technical resource.

What you'll do

• Independently own delivery of complex features/components from design through production.
• Drive system architecture and component-design discussions for your area of ownership.
• Partner with Product, UX, and other engineers to shape solutions during planning.
• Conduct peer code reviews and help set the quality bar for the team.
• Champion testing practices, including exploratory and AI-assisted testing approaches.
• Support ramp-up and growth of Associate and Software Engineers on your team.

What you'll need

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Core Java, Spring, Spring Boot, hibernate, microservices, and Kafka messaging experience.
• Demonstrated experience owning complex features end-to-end in frontend or backend systems.
• Familiarity with a public cloud provider (Azure, Google Cloud, or AWS).
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Devin, Windsurf, or similar) in a professional setting.
