Strategic Project Lead - Code

Overview

Strategic Project Lead - Code will own the production system behind Turing’s software-engineering data programs, ensuring predictable delivery across quality, throughput, contributor performance, timelines, and cost.

What you'll do

• Own end-to-end delivery for each project from customer specification to final delivery.
• Design and manage data pipelines and stand up coding workstreams.
• Diagnose bottlenecks in real time and re-sequence workflows to meet throughput targets.
• Own quality control across the annotation lifecycle and close quality gaps.
• Analyze datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and systematic errors and fix root causes.
• Orchestrate 100–1,000+ distributed contributors including training and performance management.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for client researchers and program managers with progress and risk reporting.

What you'll need

• Background in software engineering, technical program management, consulting, finance, startups, or other operationally intense environments.
• Proven track record managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
• Strong analytical and communication abilities to define measurements and communicate fixes clearly.
• Customer-facing experience managing expectations and building long-term relationships.
• Ability to read and review code and follow pull requests in Python, TypeScript, Java, or Go.
• Ability to read a test suite and judge a delivered task independently.
