Structural Engineer - Remote

Overview

Structural Engineer role within the Industrial Crane and product engineering team, focused on structural design and support of crane runway systems.

What you'll do

• Perform engineering calculations to compute stresses in crane runway structures.
• Apply static/dynamic and fatigue failure theories to determine allowable stresses per industry standards.
• Evaluate static/dynamic strength and fatigue life of structural steel runway structures for the United States and Canada.
• Use RISA 3D, vendor software, KC developed programs, and other in-house tools to run and present structural calculations.
• Validate calculations using a secondary/independent method of analysis.
• Support customers and team members as an expert during troubleshooting onsite during installation, commissioning, or the warranty period.
• Support quotation of complex projects by providing guidance on design options.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• EIT certification, with plans or desire to obtain a PE license.
• 3-5 years of related industry experience.
• Knowledge of ASCE/IBC codes including seismic conditions.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel (can perform complex functions) and CAD programs.
• Knowledge of AISC/ASCE/CSA/CMAA (AISC/CSA and CMAA considered an asset).
