Tech Lead – Application Infrastructure

Overview

Tech Lead for Payoneer’s Application Infrastructure team, owning technical direction and architecture for core platform components that power global financial services.

What you’ll do

• Provide technical leadership and architectural direction for backend systems focused on scalability, security, reliability, performance, and cost.
• Drive hands-on development, own critical code paths, and set standards for code quality.
• Own technical design decisions, lead design reviews, and author/review ADRs/RFCs and data models across SQL and NoSQL.
• Define APIs and platform capabilities in partnership with Product, Architecture, Security, SRE, and DevOps.
• Own backend reliability and performance outcomes, including SLOs and incident response for critical paths.
• Champion security and compliance requirements and lead secure-by-default engineering practices, including PCI DSS and PII handling.

What you’ll need

• 10+ years of professional backend software development experience.
• Experience leading technical direction across complex distributed systems at production scale.
• Strong proficiency in a strictly typed language, primarily C# and .NET.
• Cloud infrastructure experience on AWS (preferred) or Azure; with production use of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including schema design, query optimization, and scaling.
• Hands-on experience building AI-based products/features, integrating LLMs/AI APIs/AI coding assistants.
