Technical Program Manager, Databases

Overview

Technical Program Manager for Databases, driving the strategy and execution to improve database availability and scale that support Anthropic services.

What you'll do

• Own the roadmap and execution across cross-region, multi-cloud, and private/public/hybrid cloud database strategy pillars.
• Coordinate with database vendors, hyperscalers, and internal platform/infrastructure teams to deliver programs.
• Manage external vendor and hyperscaler relationships, including commitments, escalations, and joint roadmaps.
• Drive and manage dependencies, risks, and tradeoffs for database infrastructure supporting every service.
• Create program documentation such as roadmaps, status reports, risk assessments, and communication plans.
• Facilitate technical decision-making by bringing stakeholders together and resolving blocking issues.

What you'll need

• Several years of experience in technical program management.
• A track record delivering complex, cross-functional programs.
• Experience with database, storage, or core infrastructure programs, working with engineers who design and operate them.
• Experience managing external vendor or cloud provider relationships at the working level.
• Experience with cross-region, multi-cloud, or hybrid cloud infrastructure (preferred but not required).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to influence without authority.
