Technical Support Engineer

Overview

Provide technical support for the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) and support PMS database projects for vessels and maritime stakeholders.

What you'll do

• Provide first-line technical support for PMS queries.
• Investigate and resolve PMS issues with vessel and shore-based stakeholders.
• Maintain equipment hierarchies, maintenance tasks, spare parts records, and technical documentation.
• Extract, validate, and standardize technical and spare parts information.
• Perform PMS data quality assurance, validation, cleaning, and verification.
• Support PMS database migration, standardization, and improvement projects.
• Prepare reports and analyze PMS data using Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools.

What you'll need

• At least 1 year of experience in PMS support, maintenance planning, PMS database building, or related technical functions.
• Diploma or bachelor's degree in marine, mechanical, electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, filtering, data analysis, and reporting.
• Understanding of vessel equipment, maintenance practices, and technical documentation.
• Experience with spare parts extraction, data standardization, and quality assurance.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting PMS data management for vessels or maritime operations.
• Basic SQL knowledge.
• Knowledge of PMS component structures and maintenance job extraction from maker's manuals.
• Previous onboard sailing experience.
