Test Engineer - Performance QA

Overview

Own performance testing for Guidewire-based projects, ensuring performance, scalability, and stability goals are met. Design tests, analyze results, identify bottlenecks, and collaborate with QA, development, architecture, and cloud teams.

What you'll do

• Own end-to-end performance testing from requirements analysis through sign-off.
• Design workload models, test scenarios, data strategies, and environment prerequisites.
• Develop, maintain, and execute scripts using JMeter or equivalent tools.
• Run load, stress, endurance, spike, and scalability tests.
• Monitor applications, databases, and infrastructure during test runs.
• Analyze results, identify hotspots, and recommend tuning and retesting.
• Maintain test artifacts and share best practices with QA team members.

What you'll need

• 5–8 years of overall software QA experience.
• At least 3 years of performance testing experience for web or enterprise applications.
• Hands-on experience with a performance testing tool such as JMeter or Gatling.
• Understanding of response time, throughput, concurrency, error rates, capacity, and SLAs.
• Experience correlating application, database, and infrastructure performance metrics.
• Experience with monitoring or APM tools such as Datadog, AppDynamics, or New Relic.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with Guidewire applications or other large-scale enterprise platforms.
• Exposure to AWS, Azure, GCP, or distributed architectures.
• Professional Services, implementation, or customer-facing delivery experience.
