VPN Engineer

Overview

VPN Engineer for a network/security team in Gurugram, supporting and managing corporate network and VPN connectivity across multiple locations.

What you'll do

• Manage and support corporate network infrastructure across routers, firewalls, switches, and VPN gateways.
• Configure and troubleshoot VPN technologies including IPsec, SSL VPN, site-to-site, remote-access, WireGuard, OpenVPN, and FortiClient/FortiGate VPN.
• Configure and maintain LAN/WAN components such as VLANs, routing (BGP/OSPF where required), DHCP, DNS, NAT, ACLs, and static routing.
• Manage ISP connections with monitoring, automatic failover, and coordination for circuit changes and escalations.
• Implement network segmentation and secure administrative access for different business networks.
• Maintain documentation and SOPs, including configuration backups and change-management processes.

What you'll need

• 3+ years of experience in network checks, configuration backups, VPN monitoring, IP validation, and device health checks.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing and switching, VLANs, NAT, DHCP, DNS, and Internet routing.
• Hands-on knowledge of VPN technologies including IPsec and SSL VPN plus firewalls and access-control policies.
• Good understanding of BGP, OSPF, and VRFs in enterprise network environments.
• Knowledge of high availability, load balancing, network security, Wi-Fi, and Linux networking.
• Preferred: network automation experience with Python, Bash/Shell scripting, Ansible, REST APIs, and network automation tools.
