Overview
Build and deploy production AI agents for strategic Razorpay merchants as a Forward-Deployed Engineer in Agent Studio. Own the merchant relationship end to end, combining customer discovery, solution consulting, hands-on engineering, production measurement, and platform feedback.
What you'll do
- Own merchant conversations end-to-end, including discovery calls, workshops, solution reviews, and rollout check-ins.
- Serve as the merchant's trusted technical advisor and understand real merchant workflows.
- Reconcile conflicting signals across business owners, operators, dashboards, CRM, and ticket queues into a clear problem statement.
- Identify the business constraint behind merchant asks, including checkout recovery, dispute win rate, RTO loss, SIP recovery, settlement delay, refund spikes, support load, or cashflow leakage.
- Convert merchant problems into agent specifications covering success metrics, data sources, tool calls, guardrails, human-in-the-loop points, and rollout plans.
- Decide what an agent does independently, what it recommends, and where human approval is required.
- Write specifications that product, engineering, legal, and the merchant agree on.
- Build prototypes, connectors, MCP tool specifications, evaluation fixtures, dashboards, and glue code to put agents into production.
- Debug integration failures across Razorpay systems, merchant systems, external tools, and model behavior.
- Deploy while accounting for authentication, networking, data access, latency, cost per run, observability, and compliance.
- Set quality gates and outcome metrics before rollout.
- Track production outcomes and measure whether the agent moved the target metric.
- Diagnose and fix unsuccessful solutions, or stop them based on evidence.
- Drive expansion by identifying and prototyping the next high-value use case.
- Turn repeated field patterns into reusable Agent Studio capabilities, including connectors, templates, evaluation packs, documentation, and platform requirements.
- Shape future platform development through field feedback.
What you'll need
- 3+ years shipping production software.
- Strong Python or TypeScript skills.
- Experience working directly with customers, enterprise stakeholders, or operators.
- Comfort owning the room and the technical relationship.
- Hands-on experience with APIs, webhooks, authentication, data pipelines, and production debugging.
- Practical LLM or agent experience with prompts, tool calling, RAG, evals, or workflow automation.
- Preference for ambiguous, high-context problems over clean tickets.
- Ability to take ambiguous problems, define the structure, and drive them to resolution.
- Ability to write clearly, including specifications, implementation plans, and crisp follow-ups.
Nice to have
- Prior experience as a solutions engineer, solution consultant, sales engineer, founding engineer, product engineer, or applied AI engineer, or as an operator who wrote code.
- Payments, fintech, ecommerce, subscriptions, risk, reconciliation, settlement, or finance-ops experience.
- Experience with MCP servers, agent skills, multi-agent workflows, evaluation harnesses, or LLM observability.
- Enterprise integration experience, including private connectors, VPC or on-premises constraints, and SOC2 or ISO reviews.
Details
