Overview
Mechanical Designer / Mechanical Engineer role supporting development of mechanical designs for Philips Image Guided therapy. You’ll contribute to requirements, design, implementation, testing, and integration across the product lifecycle.
What you'll do
- Develop and review mechanical designs for user interfaces, switches, display enclosures, and related components.
- Contribute to requirements, integral design, implementation, test, and integration activities under higher-level specifications.
- Develop and review thermal simulation models and FEA, including stack-up tolerance.
- Ensure design documentation is prepared (e.g., design calculations, FMEA, DFM/DFMA, VAVE, verification reporting).
- Maintain module consistency and integration into modular, easy-to-maintain units that meet product specifications.
- Support sourcing strategy including make-buy decisions, supplier selection, and contract management.
- Conduct design reviews and risk assessments such as FMEA; perform early integration tests and address supplier issues.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant R&D working experience in the medical domain.
- Experience in product design, development, and maintenance of released products.
- Hands-on experience in end-to-end NPI ways of working.
- Analytical and methodological mindset with good hold on processes.
- Excellent design documentation skills.
- Good command of English (written and verbal).

- Onsite presence: in-person at least 3 days per week for office-based teams.
