Principal Sales Engineer, SLED - West

Overview

Serve as a principal sales engineer for Zscaler’s public sector team, supporting state and local government and educational entities across the western United States. Architect solutions, demonstrate value, and guide customers through Zero Trust transformation.

What you'll do

• Present and demonstrate the Zscaler platform to prospects, customers, and partners.
• Oversee the technical sales process from start to finish.
• Run Proof of Value engagements end to end.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support execution and customer success.
• Translate customer outcomes into technical recommendations.
• Guide customers through Zero Trust transformation.

What you'll need

• Experience in security operations, firewall or proxy operations, and networking.
• Curiosity about AI tools and experience integrating new technologies into workflows.
• Ability and proactive desire to learn technical concepts quickly.
• US citizenship for SLED alignment.

Nice to have

• Experience advising customers on AI change management and agentic AI systems.
• AI tool utilization, coding skills, or technical project development using AI.
• Strong background in enterprise security and modern networking architectures.
• Certifications such as CCIE, CCNP, JNCIP, PCNSA, CISSP, or CCSP.

Details

• Remote role covering California, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington.
• Full-time position.
• Base salary: $175,875–$251,250 USD yearly, excluding commission, bonus, and equity.
