Job description

Overview

Serve as product owner for the Integrations development team on the Direct Advisory Suite, leading planning, prioritization and delivery of integrations that connect Morningstar's advisor software with external platforms, data sources and third-party applications.

What you'll do

  • Serve as product owner for the Integrations development team, maintaining a clear, prioritized backlog aligned with business priorities, client commitments and platform objectives.
  • Drive the planning, prioritization and execution of integration enhancements, maintenance work, production fixes and new connectivity capabilities.
  • Provide customer, market, partner and delivery insights to product leadership to help shape the broader integrations strategy and roadmap.
  • Partner with engineering to maintain existing integrations while expanding the breadth and depth of data-in and data-out connectivity with external platforms.
  • Gather, validate and translate customer, partner, commercial and internal stakeholder needs into clear product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria and prioritized backlog items.
  • Balance planned delivery work with integration maintenance, production support, client commitments, technical debt, platform improvements and emerging partner needs.
  • Lead backlog grooming, sprint planning, product demonstrations, retrospectives and other Agile ceremonies in close partnership with engineering leadership.
  • Triage integration issues, clarify product decisions and coordinate stakeholders through incidents, defects, dependency risks and delivery tradeoffs.
  • Establish and maintain productive relationships with external technology vendors, data providers and integration partners.
  • Work with product, commercial, business, sales, marketing, implementation and service stakeholders to support launches, meet client deliverables and communicate integration capabilities accurately.
  • Track adoption, delivery outcomes and operational performance; use client feedback and competitive intelligence to identify and prioritize product improvements.
  • Partner with engineering, architecture, security and data teams to ensure integrations meet expectations for reliability, scalability, security, privacy and supportability.
  • Work with content and marketing teams to develop product documentation, enablement materials, troubleshooting guidance, user guides and Q&A content for internal teams and second- and third-level support.
  • Communicate delivery progress, risks, priorities and outcomes clearly to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, computer science, business or a related field.
  • 2+ years of product management, product owner or related experience, preferably within financial services, wealth management technology, advisor technology or enterprise software.
  • Technical acumen sufficient to work effectively with software engineers and architecture teams on APIs, authentication, data models, synchronization patterns, dependencies and operational tradeoffs.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and make sound decisions across planned delivery work, client commitments and operational maintenance needs.
  • Experience collaborating with external vendors, technology partners and cross-functional internal teams.
  • Strong customer focus, with the ability to convert client feedback into practical product decisions.
  • Excellent analytical, planning, communication, presentation and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority and align distributed teams around shared priorities.
  • Willingness to work across global teams and maintain regular working hours that overlap with North American-based stakeholders.
  • A collaborative, detail-oriented, hands-on approach and a strong bias toward quality in delivery.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, computer science, business or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience in client-facing roles and familiarity with advisor and/or financial software.
  • Experience owning or supporting software integrations, APIs, data exchange, workflow automation or third-party platform partnerships.

Details

  • Based in the Mumbai office, within a global matrixed team spanning Chicago, Toronto and Mumbai.
  • Hybrid work model: four days in-office each week in most locations.
  • Regular working hours overlapping with North American-based stakeholders.
  • Morningstar India Private Ltd. (Delhi) is the legal entity.
